This is the story of how women in rural Bangladesh are radically changing the fabric of their society by amplifying their voices and demanding their rights.

These are the stories of human rights abuse survivors who are demanding justice, community advocates who work tirelessly to educate other women about their rights, and leaders who organize women to take collective action against injustices. What they all have in common is the courage to challenge patriarchal paradigms and create a new consensus about the value and role of women.

Through the creation of enduring community institutions by the women and for the women, BRAC has been able to assist women in becoming unstoppable catalysts of systemic change. By flexing their democratic muscle every day, these women are bringing about a new country where women are able to realize their potential and live free from discrimination and exploitation.
