Julekha has been striving for justice in a murky legal system since her fourteen year old daughter Sathi was raped and murdered. Since her death, lawyers from BRAC's free legal aid services have made it their mission to ensure that Julekha's case is not overwhelmed by bribes and acts of terror that the perpetrators are using to pressure her to drop the case. In fact, BRAC's lawyers have helped Julekha take her case to the high court. Julekha is also a member of her community's BRAC Citizen Action Group (Polli Somaj), whose members have been watching out for her safety and that of her family. The support of this group has helped Julekha and her family live free of fear and feel safe enough to continue on in her struggle for justice.
